Creations is more than just an amazing shop on Camden Market
It came into existence
in 1984 after a tour of the world by Thierry Durieux. Towards the
end of his journey he made his way across the archipelago of Indonesia
and stopped in Java. Having repaired his rattan 'Borneo Bag' with
leather he soon realized that the mixing of the two natural materials
appealed to locals and tourists alike.
He collaborated with Yamin Maknawa and designed his initial collection
of six different styles. They were an immediate hit and on his return
to the UK he had them featured in the magazines Elle and Vogue.

It wasn't long before
orders from leading department stores such as Liberties, Conran
Shop, Josephs and Harvey Nichols followed.
Thierry made six trips
to Java in that first year to meet the demands and work on new designs.
Over the years, since then, he has worked with many other talented
craftsmen working with materials such as wood, stone, bronze, copper,
glass and many others. |

| These collections were also offered to stores
in London and Thierry developed a good relationship with Liberties,
Selfridges, Neal Street East, Conran Shop and many more, supplying
them with treasures from across Indonesia. |

| He began trading in Camden
Town, London, in the late 1980's, supplying the general public directly,
and has continued to do so ever since. Having moved from a shared
railway arch to a few other locations around the Stables Market,
he has established his emporium at the Livery, one of the largest
shops in the Stables Market |
Once walking through
the deceivingly small shop entrance, the visitor enters into a large
labyrinth filled with treasures and ethnographic artifacts, many
of which suggest being in a museum or a gallery rather than a shop.
Beautiful displays merge into each other, cover walls and even the
ceiling and present interesting items in all sorts of materials
and sizes.
From intricately woven bracelets, necklaces and jewelry
to large wall mirrors, cupboards and a beautiful four poster bed, |

| there is so much to see in the shop that one visit is rarely sufficient.
Perhaps any further description it is best left to the countless
visitors that wrote their comments in to our guestbook. |

"For many years
now I have enjoyed collaborating with clients in working on various
projects. From a simple bathroom remodel to furnishing luxury villas
in the Caribbean, no project is too small or large. I particularly
enjoy working in the early stages of projects with Designers and
Architects, where customers have the time to wait for production
and shipping.
I can work with the finest craftsmen to make your
dreams a reality. For Amanoka I had 63 solid teak panels carved
inside and outside to assist |

in air circulation throughout the main
buildings.
Working with King & Co Architects I made service
counters to accommodate the drink dispensing machines for the restaurant
Chain Nando's. The list of finished projects is long."
